What most people learn too late
Three rules that decide what Colombia costs you.
183 days
In any 365, and Colombia taxes your worldwide income.
Continuous or not. Article 10 of the Tax Statute counts days present, not your visa. No visa category, including the digital nomad visa, creates an exemption.
Registered
Unregistered capital is hard to take back out.
Foreign investment has to be channelled through the exchange market and registered with Banco de la República. That registration is what supports repatriating profits and capital later.
1 shareholder
Is enough to incorporate, with no minimum capital.
Colombia's S.A.S. lets a single foreign shareholder own and legally represent a company. The structure is easy. The tax regime you attach to it is the decision that matters.

Visas and residency
Most investor visas rest on a number an accountant has to prove.
Registered capital, an investment traced to its source, income you can evidence month after month. That is the firm’s work, and it is the part applications fail on. The immigration filing is prepared with the firm’s immigration counsel, briefed and supervised by us.

Questions
Before the first call.
Calls, proposals, financial statements and monthly management reports are delivered in English. Filings to Colombian authorities are prepared and submitted in Spanish because the law requires it, and each one is explained to you in English before it is filed.
Almost all of it. Most clients abroad never visit the office: incorporation runs on an apostilled power of attorney, filings are electronic and reporting happens by email and on calls. Opening a corporate bank account is the one step where some banks still ask for a video call or an in-person visit.
No. This is the most common piece of misinformation we correct. Tax residency depends on physical presence under article 10 of the Tax Statute, not on visa category. Anyone present 183 days or more in any 365-day window becomes a Colombian tax resident, digital nomad visa included.
We are an accounting, tax and finance firm. Accounting, tax, payroll, foreign investment registration and incorporation filings are done and signed by the firm. Immigration filings are prepared with the firm's immigration counsel, briefed and supervised by us, so the financial evidence a visa rests on and the application itself stay in one file.
A written proposal after a free 30-minute call. Fees depend on transaction volume, headcount, entities and reporting cadence, so we do not publish a price list. Government, notary and apostille costs are itemised separately and paid at cost.

What most people get wrong
183 days
Tax residency starts at 183 days of presence in any 365-day window, whatever visa you hold. Planned in advance it is manageable; discovered afterwards it is expensive.
